Sex is the wonder tonic for a lot of things – evidently also for depressions. The feeling of safety it brings is why depressed women are having more sex
It's not the lack of sex that causes women's depressions. New studies show, that depressed women are more active on the sheets than their healthy sisters of the female sex.
The Daily mail writes that Women with mild to moderate depressions are up to 3 times more active, whether they are in a relationship or not. The researchers behind the test are pleased with the result, as they state that sex can be a form of self treatment, if not a cure, for depressions.
Sex brings safety
It shows that women in relationships seek sex, when they are depressed. The intimacy brings them safety.
“When people are depressed, they feel more insecure in their relationship and are doubting their partner, because they feel useless and unwanted” - Says Sabura Allen who is behind the study.
“When they are having sex, they get this intimacy and safety which is needed to feel loved” She says.
Singles are the most active
As the women in relationships single women are reaching for sex when they are depressed.
They have numerous more affairs than their healthy single girlfriends.
Whether sex is the medicine for depressions are still not known.
